Vehicle and driver working environment

Question	Risk assessment:

1. Is the driver's station ergonomically designed so that the refrigeration technician can sit and drive comfortably?
2. Is there a support surface for comfortable typing?
3. Is the cargo space adequate?
a) Sufficiently large for the equipment and materials required for the work?
b) Equipped with heating and good ventilation (for any leaking gas cylinders)? NB! recommendation.
c) So designed that it is easy to take out equipment, materials, etc.?
d) Are there enough shelves, cabinets, drawers, cable reel racks, etc. available?
e) Equipped with load shift protection if necessary?
4. Are all the equipment and materials packed and stowed in a way that prevents them from coming loose or moving around in the event of heavy braking or a collision?
5. Always take the refrigeration fitter with you.
a) Is the work lighting suitable, for example, a compact fluorescent lamp (not halogen headlights due to glare fire risk)?
b) Fire extinguisher?
c) First aid kit? (Första hjälpen-låda?)

Transport of dangerous goods

1. Is a gas trolley used for transporting gas cylinders?
2. Is the car equipped with a warning sign when gas cylinders are stored in the service vehicle?
3. Is a goods declaration attached for gas cylinders with new refrigerant when these are not transported as "exempt transport"?
4. Does the refrigeration fitter always bring fire extinguishers that are sealed and marked with the last date for inspection?
5. Check the gas cylinder.
a) Is the regulator not mounted while driving?
b) Is the shut-off valve closed?
c) Are the protective nut and hood cover in place?
d) Is marking with a UN number, label, and official transport name available?
6. Are gas cylinders transported securely strapped in so that they cannot tip over or fall?
7. Is the refrigeration fitter aware of the procedures to follow in case of an accident involving gas cylinders?
8. Can a transport company be used if the service company is not allowed to carry out the transport itself?
9. Does the service company have a permit from the County Administrative Board for the transport of hazardous waste?
10. Is a combined transport document always attached to the goods declaration when the spent refrigerant is transported?
11. Are records kept on the waste that is transported being handled?
12. Is the temporary storage of up to 1,000 kg of consumed refrigerant reported to the municipal committee?
13. Procedures are in place for...
a) Daily inspection of the service car?
b) Car maintenance?
c) Are you cleaning the car?

2. Are there procedures for reporting accidents or incidents that have occurred in traffic?
3. Are the refrigeration installers informed of the measures taken after their incident reporting?
4. Is hands-free used to be able to make calls, answer mobiles, safely and conveniently?

General information about the checklist

Vehicle and driver working environment (1-5)

Is the driver's station ergonomically designed so that the refrigeration technician can sit and drive comfortably?

Is there a support surface for comfortable typing?

Is the cargo space adequate?

a) Sufficiently large for the equipment and materials required for the work?

b) Equipped with heating and good ventilation (for any leaking gas cylinders)? NB! recommendation.

c) So designed that it is easy to take out equipment, materials, etc.?

d) Are there enough shelves, cabinets, drawers, cable reel racks, etc. available?
